This kit makes a good companion project for Colonial history lessons. A step above our easier Traditional Cornhusk Doll Kit (4712), it can be completed in less than an hour. Beautiful as a display doll, or it can be used for teaching about Native American lifestyles. Size varies due to the length of the cornhusks.

Product Description: Our original Rag Doll Kit (4715) includes fabric for the doll, dress and apron, lace, yarn for hair, sewing needle, thread, pattern, stuffing, instructions, and the history of rag dolls. The completed doll is approximately 11-1/4 inches tall. Make this doll as a gift for a little girl or for yourself as a keepsake! The type of rag doll pattern included in our kit is referred to as the "pancake style doll" because it is flat on both sides. This is the most common and easiest of cloth dolls to make. Enjoy making your very own historical rag doll.

Topsy-Turvy Doll Kit

Product Description: This is the classic antebellum doll that is actually two dolls in one. Our Topsy-Turvy Doll Kit (4716) includes pattern, instructions, fabric, stuffing, lace, yarn, turning stick, embroidery floss, needle, thread and historical background of the the doll. Fabrics will vary. Finished doll is approximately 14 inches in length. Topsy-Turvy Dolls became popular in the southern United States around the time preceding the American Civil War. These dolls could have been made for slave children by their mothers so they could have a "hidden doll" when the master was around. Or, the dolls could have beeen made for the child(ren) of the slave owner so that they could roll play. The specific reason(s) and origin for these "turnabout dolls" are unknown, but they became very popular dolls.

Little Black Folk Doll Kit

Product Description: Our adorable Little Black Folk Doll Kit (4717) is a wonderful project for doll collectors and those with historical interests, as well as for daughters, mothers and grandmothers. Doll can easily be made entirely by hand. Uses beginning embroidery stitches on head and basic stitching on body and clothing. Kit includes black cotton fabric, muslin, printed fabric for dress, poly-fiberfill stuffing, three colors of embroidery floss, sewing needle, history of black dolls, instructions and pattern. Finished doll is approximately 4-3/4" inches tall.
